Putting your money where your mouth is
Investing in innovation is an enjoyable experience.
Rarely if ever will I squawk publicly about where or how much I invest. But I will say a little about why.
Innovation doesn’t just happen.
Innovation takes a lot of hard work plus courage and belief.
Courage and belief by the innovators themselves - certainly - as well as by those who work for them, buy from them and supply to them.
But the same applies for those who back them. To put other people’s money at risk is one thing, and is hard enough for professional fund managers. All kudos to them.
To put your own money where your mouth is another step beyond.
In my experience, even if the investment doesn’t always yield what you hope, you are richer by the experience of at least having tried. But when it does pay off - financially I mean - it is something to behold, and celebrated.
